Carnivorous furniture actually. This story has been making its rounds on the internets quite a bit this week, but I feel like I should post it anyway. Some brave designers have created furniture that catches organic matter (flies and mice to be specific) and it as a power source. More than the design implications of this, the sociological are more interesting. Would you feed your lamp if it was having trouble catching food on its own?
